The Geno-Dice universe
The neon city crowds the levels of an immense megastructure. New homes are attached to old ones, windows face neighbouring walls, and everyday life continues beneath signs and cables. This world lives on the inheritance of a great technological civilisation while understanding less and less of how it works.

In the inhabited districts, it is rarely clear where one building ends and another begins. Rooms overhang walkways, workshops occupy former service spaces, and staircases wind between pipes. Above a roof there may be another street; beyond a wall, someone else’s kitchen.
The city is extended, divided and pieced together again from whatever can be kept in use. New cladding covers old surfaces, and homes accumulate around structural supports. The larger architecture gradually disappears beneath countless small human decisions.

Under one awning, someone repairs equipment; at the next counter, someone prepares food. Laundry hangs from balconies, plants stand beside doorways, and voices carry through the hum of ventilation. The cold light of signs mingles with the warm rectangles of windows. Even the narrowest passage is someone’s way home.
People know how to live alongside complex technology, but cannot always restore it. Working components are carefully kept, parts are adapted to new tasks, and broken sections are bypassed. It is often easier to run another cable and find another route than to understand what lies beneath a dozen earlier alterations.

Behind a refurbished facade, machinery may be running that predates the entire neighbourhood around it. Its capabilities remain extensive, while the knowledge needed to understand it dwindles. Advanced devices coexist with makeshift repairs, manual work and the habit of leaving a working system alone.
Geno-Dice Corp is part of everyday life in this world. The corporation creates games based on its own fantasy system. Shared laws and a common vision of that fantasy world connect the different games and stories built upon it.
